- Pa Kua Chang or Bagua Zhang (Rare Linear style)
Description:
While the Northern or so-called ''Dragon'' style of Pa Kua (Bagua) is commonly found around the US, few Kung-Fu programs offer the very hard to find linear version of this superb fighting system.
In this structure, all 8 sets (some 220-240 steps) are done on-line reversing direction each half set (mirror image). The Pa Kua is characterized by constant directional changes, spinning movements on line, and, of course, all open handed work. From the standpoint of application of individual techniques to fighting, it is circular in nature and lends itself to thousands of potential combat applications, not to mention the incredible health nourishing and strength building benefits for which only Pa Kua is noted. Of 20+ strictly internal systems taught at Green Dragon, this one is the overall favorite!!
